WCDF Qualify Tournament: As a new Zealander, I am delighted that we can have both the qualifier and the Woman's World match in New Zealand. When I started out in Draughts , I hardly knew any Draughts players, and none from here. Going to play in Las Vegas was the best thing I could have done to introduce me to Draughts players across the world. I have never regretted the costs involved in going to Vegas, Ireland and Barbados, simply because it's not only about money , it's about meeting likeminded people and having a great time. I am very proud to be living in New Zealand . It is a beautiful country with stunning scenery , and because I run a bed and breakfast here I know from the feedback of overseas people that they are delighted wit hthe friendliness, beauty and hospitality of New Zealanders. I am hoping that for the Qualifier we will get a good borad spectrum of Draughts players across the World to play in this exciting event, or indeed just coming over to watch. There will be full media coverage, and we will do all we can to make everyones stay as inexpensive as possible. In the near future a website on us will be available and we will endeavour to make it a wonderful and well organized event. It will also be an honour to play Patricia Breen in my own country. Through this event we are hoping to resurrect Draughts in New Zealand, Australia and in the Pacific basin. I would like to thank the members of the WCDF for their support, and also Hugh Devlin and Lindus Edwards for their encouragement in getting the bid here.
