American Checker Monthly

Postby JR Smith on Mon Jul 16, 2007 2:13 pm

Hello Jay, I enjoy your post... You definitely been bitten by the checker bug!

This was the "Official Organ" of The American Checker Association and published by M.D. Teetzel. (Teetzel's ACM) It runs from 1920 to 1939 for 20 years until Manson Teetzel

 Howard is selling off his father's fine collection of checker literature. His father (Abe) knew many of the great checker players of the past personally and Tommy Wiswell visited their home often for dinner. The ACM is one of my favorite pieces of checker literature because of its human factor and it was more down to earth--it (like Draughts World and Elam's Checkerboard) had much more than checker play in it.
