"His Checkers Have Crowns on Both Sides"--answer

Postby Mr. Checkers on Tue Dec 27, 2005 12:01 pm

 Throughout his lifetime he has struggled to conquer the problems that laid before him, which caused him to read a book or two--and from those he mastered the elegance of the English language and how to win at checkers too. "Checker Trivia" question of the Day"? Who is this scholarly gentleman of words, books and also of checkers across the board? "Mr. Checkers"

 I wonder if he was a relative of Noah Webster? My guess to answer this fine question would be Edgar Allan Poe. "Inky"
