In my comments in Sixth to this position in note H3 I gave only 3-8, which leads to difficult draw for white. See diagram below.

Red to move, white draw

Al Lyman, American National mail Champion, mentioned to me today, that 2-7 creates even more problem for white. In his original email Al thought that red can even win after 2-7, but later we find a wonderful draw.

Continue from diagram: 2-7, 25-22 (A), 3-8, 26-23**, 19-26, 30-23, 25-21, 23-18, 7-11, 31-26*, 12-16 (25-30, 26-23 etc. Draw), 17-14*, 10-17, 26-23, 17-26 24-19, 15-22, 19-3 and red can't win ! Draw

A. 31-27? loses after 7-11, 27-23, 12-16, 25-22, 3-8, 23-18, 8-12,
26-23, 19-26, 30-23, 21-25, 23-19, 16-23, 24-19, 15-24, 22-8, 25-30, 28-19, 30-25, etc, RW
