Some 2008 Mind sport games

Good afternoon everyone

Not much happening here as far as game posts concerned so I decided to pick out some games from my 2008 participation in Mindsport Olympics. Not too recent but unfortunately I'm not able to participate in many tys.

First game Black Docherty White Martinov

10-14 23-19 11-16 27-23 9-13 19-15 16-20 24-19 7-10 22-18 (22-17 best) 5-9 25-22 2-7 31-27 8-11 15x8 4x11 19-16 (forced) 12x19 23x16 14x23 27x18 10-14 29-25 (26-23 is no better after 6-10 ; 10-15 and although white goes through to king after a 2x2 the ending is miserable) 14x23 26x19 9-14 30-26 6-10 32-27 1-5 28-24 3-8!! (the star move seen back at 10-14 calculation stage) 26-23 13-17 Black win

The next game is Black Docherty White Ron King

12-16 21-17 9-13 22-18 13x22 26x17 16-19 23x16 11x20 17-13 8-11 25-22 4-8 24-19 10-14 18x9 5x14 29-25 14-17 31-26 6-10 22-18 (19-15 is the move to play here) 17-21 13-9 10-14 28-24 14x23 27x18 20x27 32x23 8-12 19-15 11-16 23-19 16x23 26x19 3-8! (once again the surprise move that Ron had probably overlooked in previous calculations) 25-22 1-5 9-6 2x9 22-17 7-11 15-10 9-14 Black win

Black Ron King White Docherty

12-16 21-17 9-13 23-18 16-20 25-21 6-9 24-19 11-15 18x11 7x23 27x18 8-11 30-25 10-15 26-23 3-8 (drifting and weakening the position) 23-19 (?? 32-27 then 18-14 maintains pressure on black who will go through for a king a man down and in unfavourable conditions) 15x24 28x19 8-12 18-14 9x18 22x8 4x11 25-22 ! 5-9 29-25 ! 11-16 19-15 2-6 31-26 ! (the end of the defensive sequence calculated back at 25-22) 20-24 15-11 9-14 17x10 6x15 11-7 15-19 7-2 19-23 26x19 16x23 2-7 24-27 7-11 27-31 11-15 23-26 15-19 26-30 22-18 1-5 19-24 12-16 24-20 30-26 20x11 26-22 Draw

Black Docherty White Allicock

11-15 23-18 10-14 18x11 8x15 26-23 6-10 22-17 4-8 17-13 1-6 23-19 15-18 24-20 7-11 25-22 18x25 29x22 (white has played the opening incorrectly and is in a weakened position) 14-18 22x15 11x18 30-26 2-7 ( long calculations only showed white breaking through to the king row, with relatively natural moves. My calculation from here, letting white through to king via the 2x2 and then holding some parameters was more inspiring to me!) 27-24 18-23 26-22 23-26 22-17 26-30 31-26 30x16 20x2 12-16 32-27 ? (the move I was wanting back when I played 2-7) 16-19 24x15 10x19 27-24 19-23 24-19 8-11 28-24 23-27 24-20 27-32 19-16 11-15 16-11 32-28 (always play to the center they say....I'm drifting...) 20-16 28-24 16-12 24-20 (? throwing the win away correct was 24-19 to the center then...and then if 11-7 3x10 12-8 15-18 8-3 18-23 and if 3-7 then 19-15 wins) 11-7 3-10 12-8 (too far off now with the king to obtain previous win if the single man is attacked on 10) draw!! (because 15-19 8-3 10-15 3-8 15-18 8-11 18-23 2-7 then exchange

Best regards to all

Another game from Beijing where I missed an easy win against Alex Mosyeve after having worked hard in the mid game
Black Docherty White Mosyeve
10-15 23-19 7-10 22-18 15x22 25x18 10-14 27-23 11-16 29-25 16-20 31-27 8-11 19-16 12x19 23x7 14x23 26x19 2x11 25-22 6-10 19-16 11-15 22-17 3-7 30-26 1-6 26-22 9-13 16-12 7-11 27-23 20x27 23-18 6-9 ?? ( I had about 35 minutes left on clock here...Alex had about 1 minute 30 left...I was trying to rush him here and played 'time' rather than position which explains this wreckless move which throws away my win of course 27-31 is an easy win) 32x23 9-14 Draw
