[Event "2006 Straw. TN 11-15 23-18 10-14"]
[Black "Michael Holmes"] [White "Alex Moiseyev"] [Result "0-1"]

1. 11-15 23-18 2. 10-14 18x11 3. 8x15 26-23 4. 6-10 22-18 5. 15x22 25x18 6. 4-8 29-25 7. 9-13 18x9 8. 5x14 31-26 9. 8-11 25-22 10. 10-15 24-20 11. 7-10 {A, V 1} 20-16 {B} 12. 12x19 {V 2} 23x7 13. 2x11 27-23 14. 3-8 28-24 15. 1-6 23-19 16. 15-18 {C, V 4 } 22x15 17. 11x18 19-16 18. 8-12 16-11 19. 10-15 0-1

A) This is the same position as Laverty vs Morrison and Holmes vs Morrison in the 2005 USA GAYP Tournament
B) But this move is much better than the 28-24 Morrison played against me and Tim which we both drew. After this red is forced to play a man down no matter which jump he makes in order to draw the game.

C) 14-18 loses by the shot. This also loses. However 8-12 does draw and it was confirmed by Ed with the 10 piece database.

Variation 1
1-5 {A} 23-18 {B} 12. 14x23 26x10 13. 7x14 22-18 14. 14x23 27x18 15. 2-6 28-24 16. 6-9 24-19 17. 9-14 18x9 18. 5x14 30-26 19. 3-7 26-22 20. 7-10 20-16 21. 11x20 32-27 drawn

A) The better way for sure

B) 28-24 12. 7-10 23-18 13. 14x23 27x18 14. 5-9 26-23 15. 12-16 32-28 16. 10-14 24-19 17. 15x24 28x12 18. 2-6 and now the same as Holmes vs Morrison Draw in the 2005 USA GAYP Tournament.

Variation 2
11x20 {A} 23-18 13. 14x23 27x11 14. 10-15 11-8 {V 3} 15. 12-16 8-4 16. 16-19 32-27 17. 2-7 27-23 18. 20-24 23x16 19. 24-27 26-23 20. 27-31 23-18 21. 15-19 18-15 22. 31-27 {B} 15-11 23. 7-10 22-18 24. 10-15 18-14 25. 27-24 16-12 26. 24-20 14-10 27. 19-23 12-8 {11-7 gets 23-26} 28. 3x12 10-7 29. 23-27 7-2 30. 27-31 11-7 31. 15-18 7-3 32. 18-23 3-7 33. 31-27 28-24 34. 1-5 7-11 35. 23-26 30x23 36. 27x18 24-19 37. 13-17 21x14 38. 18x9 4-8 39. 9-14 11-15 40. 5-9 8-11 41. 20-24 11-16 42. 9-13 2-7 43. 13-17 7-2 44. 17-22 2-6 45. 22-25 6-2 46. 25-30 2-7 47. 30-26 7-3 48. 26-22 16-20 49. 24-28 15-10 50. 14x7 3x10 51. 22-18 20-24 52. 18-15 10-7 53. 12-16 19x12 54. 28x19 12-8draw

A) Either jump draws and either jump requires a man down draw!
B) Here I stopped the 15 minutes per move with the computer and put it on 2 minutes per move.

Variation 3

Variation 4
8-12 {A} 26-23 17. 11-16 22-18 {V 5} 18. 15x22 24-20 19. 22-26 20x11 20. 26-31 11-7 21. 6-9 7-2 22. 31-26 2-6 23. 10-15 19x10 24. 26x19 10-7 25. 14-18 6-1 26. 18-23 1-5 27. 9-14 5-9 28. 14-18 9-14 29. 19-15 7-2 30. 15-19 2-6 31. 19-15 32-28 32. 12-16 6-2 33. 15-19 2-7 34. 19-15 7-3 35. 16-20 3-8 36. 13-17 drawn.

A) This looked bad but not as bad as the 15-18 move I chose.

Variation 5

In Holmes v Mos... Shane Mc Cosker rightly pointed out a transp into 1014 2319 1115xx ...by playing 711 instead of 4-8@mv no 11 ..well spotted !!
