The Doctor

I ask that others respond with variations and perhaps create some diagrams of what they think are the interesting positions. This may give more interest to this forum. All help wanted!

[Event "2013 OH 10-14 22-18 6-10"] [Black "Michael Holmes"][White "Steve Holliday"][Result "1-0"]
1. 10-14 22-18 2. 6-10 25-22 3. 12-16 24-20 {A} 4. 16-19 23x16 5. 14x23 26x19 6. 8-12 31-26 {B} 7. 11-15 27-23 8. 15x24 28x19 9. 4-8 29-25 {BB} 10. 8-11 32-28 {C} 11. 9-13 {D} 23-18 12. 10-14 {E} 18x9 13. 5x14 26-23 14. 11-15 19x10 15. 12x26 30x23 16. 2-6 23-19 {F} 17. 6x24 28x19 18. 7-10 19-16 19. 10-15 16-11 20. 15-19 20-16 21. 19-24 16-12 22. 1-6 11-8 23. 6-10 8-4 24. 3-7 1-0
A) Steve impressed me by telling me after the round that we have played only twice before and the last time we played it was on the Doctor. Don Lafferty told me 22-17 was strong here; see game 6.
B) I beat Lowder with 22-17 in NC one time; See Game 1. In the AR 2002 Morris played 30-25 against me from an unusual transposition from 11-16 22-18 8-11; See Game 2. For the 30-26 line see Game 3.
BB) Steve played 23-18 in the 2010 OH.
C) This loses. Moving the piece on 23 or 22 or even 21 draws. See Game 4 for play on 22-18.
D) The correct reply.
E) Perhaps this formation is what Steve overlooked when he moved 32-28 thinking he was protecting the piece on 19.
F) 28-24 also loses. However, I have to say during the game that I almost did not take the winning 10-14 as I did not like what it was starting to look like for red. I forced myself to see past this formation and what would happen when we each crowned a piece.

Some interesting games Michael. From what I have studied, it seems as if white can pretty much force a tough bridge ending for red. A variation off the main Basic Checkers trunk:

10-14 22-18 12-16 24-20 16-19 23x16 14x23 26x19 8-12 25-22 6-10 31-26
11-15 27-23 15x24 28x19 4-8 29-25 8-11 23-18 9-14 18x9 5x14 22-17 14-18 17-14 10x17 21x14 11-15 19x10 12x19 26-22* 18-23 22-18 19-24 20-16 24-27 16-12 7-11 12-8 3x12 10-7 *

I don't believe there is any way for red to avoid it! There is absolutely no freedom at all for red in the white doctor. This is also Kingsrow's main variation of the line.
