That first 9-14, 22-18, 10-15 game is very interesting. Basic Checkers gives either 24-20 or 17-13 on move 10 for white, which are both good moves. Alex however, played a even stronger move, the Kingsrow preferred attack of 32-27, forcing red to make a series of critical moves to survive and virtually forcing a really tough endgame for red. Miki could not have played that line any better for red, he played the defense perfectly the whole game unless an error was made in the endgame. Does anyone have the 8 piece database result?

10-15 22-17 2. 15-19 24x15 3. 11x18 23x14 4. 9x18 26-23 5. 6-9 23x14 6. 9x18 30-26 7. 5-9 17-14 8. 9-13 26-23 9. 1-5 28-24 10. 8-11 24-20 11. 11-15 21-17 12. 13x22 27-24 13. 18x27 25x11 14. 7x16 32x23 15. 3-7 20x11 16. 7x16 29-25 17. 2-6 25-22 18. 16-20???

One of the oldest tricks in the book.........the 16-20 loss is this tough line , Borgetti shows his all round lack of knowledge in English draughts and hard PP.I ve studied this particular RUN UP with Myles n Shane several times and in my early days in Mail play ......its jst something yu gotta know it s a MUST know i suppose. Miki will do well to get a copy of the Skullcracker and enhance his knowledge for future events. The match is in the melting pot may the best man win.

Regarding that first 9-14, 22-18, 10-15 game, the 32-27 attack line appears in Pask's Solid Checkers, although the play there diverged after a while.
