PA Tourn-Laverty/Interesting Line

While no particular game stood out to me in this tournament, I realized I missed a move that could have made my second game against Laverty very interesting. First, here is the draw we played the second game which was fairly simple....

11-16, 23-18, 7-11, 26-23, 3-7, 24-19, 11-15, 18-11, 8-24, 28-19, 4-8, 22-18, 8-11, 25-22, 9-14 (a weak move for red, the better move is 9-13) 22-17 (I could not find anything better, below this I go over a better alternative) 11-15, 29-25, 15-24, 27-11, 7-16, 32-27, 16-19, 23-16, 12-19, 30-26, 6-9, 17-13, 10-15, 13-6, 1-10.....I will stop there, we played it out more but it is an obvious draw in this position.

After the 9-14 trade on move 15, 29-25! is a great move for white.

11-15 at first may look good for red, but it leads to a loss after 23-18 by white. So the best alternative for red now is 1-5, everything else loses or is very weak. Continuation: 22-17, 6-9, 17-13, 2-6, 21-17! (27-24 will draw for white but this pitch is so much better and stronger)

Image

14-21, 25-22, 9-14, 22-18, 5-9! (14-17 loses by 31-26, 16-20, 18-15) 27-24, 16-20, 31-27, 11-16, 18-15 which leads to this interesting position

Image

14-18! 23-5, 16-23, 27-18 which leads to this position, try to figure out which way red should jump to get the draw.

10-28 gets the extra piece but loses as follows: 1-5, 7-10, and its that easy, now white can just go back and forth in the double corner until red puts the piece on 12 onto 23, very clever win for white, if white tries to squeeze the piece on 6 too early then it draws. So the draw as follows is 20-27, 32-23, 10-26, 30-23, 6-10, 5-1, 7-11, 23-19, 7-16 Draw

This pitch - transposition from Black Widow.
I am playing checkers, not chess.
