I always and strongly beleive that ratings for GAYP events shall not be processed together with 3-moves and 11 man ballot. This is apple and oranges. It is well known that the percentage of draws in GAYP games is much bigger and any wins are more exceptional and honorable. Calculating rating for GAYP events seriously screwed numbers.

Alex,

You are right, but I still don't think we should separate them, especially due to the fact that there are barely any GAYP tournaments anymore. District 1, ACF GAYP Nationals, and the World Qualifier are the only GAYP tourneys I think I rated. Not to mention two of those tournaments are once every two years. My thing I guess is that it would be kind of pointless to have separate ratings for GAYP. Really every checker game is a draw to begin with. I think just because one version tends to produce more draws doesn't mean we should just separate it from the rest. Just my opinion though.

OK, no problems, impact is minimum and fun is growing  We should help our small and weak brother ha-ha

On serious note, all after all - any rating / ranking system has a great influence, encourage and motivate people. Thats why I am OK in general with any system which works without much glitches and holes

Joe, don't forget to publish rating list in February ACFB issue.

mate if you really think i am stirring the pot , maybe you should re-read my statements....(someone who is stirring would have tried to make you more angry, not tell you to let it go) all i tried to do was to calm you down and keep you focused on the task ahead. And if you won't allow others to put you down, why are you having a go at me, when all i was doing was helping?

So far no reply from ACF management in regards to the members list. Jason and I are both trying hard to get the list in order to cut out the non members from the ratings. If we are not able to get the list by the end of the week then I will probably give Jason the go ahead to just post the ratings the way they are. I would like to have the ratings posted sometime by early next week. If anybody knows Kim or Alan well and could try getting into contact with them about this matter it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi,

Has there been a conclusion as to who should be included?

I am only one, but support having only ACF members listed.

All ACF memebers regardless where they live, should be listed IMO.

Thanks for the continuing hard work,
Wayne

The list we'll display on this website will be ACF members only. The problem is, neither Joe nor I have a list of ACF members in order to reduce the list getting generated by the ICF down.

And to further explain, it will be all ACF members no matter where they live. And if management approves, I would like to implement Alex's idea of allowing non members to be part of the list provided they would be willing to pay a small annual fee.

Paying a small annual fee to be part of the ratings???

I got a crazy idea on how much the fee could be...

The cost of an ACF membership!!!

I've updated the list displayed on this site, but since we never got a list of active ACF players, it's the same list as shown on icheckers.net.

Hopefully somebody can help us out in the future and I'll make the appropriate adjustments.

Many thanks to Kim who provided me with a current list of ACF members. All ACF members only will be part of the official ratings list very soon.

Yes, I spoke with Kim yesterday in kurnik and explained why you needed it and asked her to send it ASAP. She did not realize it was highly important and has been very busy lately.
