the quarter finals match ups are as follows....

Ireland vs Wales
England vs France
South Africa vs Australia
Argentina vs New Zealand
we shall see how it all plays out....
i am tipping the following winners
Ireland- France- Australia - New Zealand ( i wouldn't bet my shed on them but maybe a quick flutter :) )
apart from the kiwis vs pumas game the others will be very close and bone crunching to say the least...

cheers

i was wrong about one game and that was the Ireland vs Wales one....
The Pumas played like absolute warriors and i am so damn proud.... they scored a try first and were leading at one stage and it took the mighty all blacks 60 minutes to assert themselves in the game.

Wales were impressive and i think that they could go all the way.

my heart is saying Wales will beat France and Australia will beat New Zealand....
my head is laughing at that :)

I will have to suffer at the hands of the all blacks 2 weeks in a row, first vs the pumas and next vs the wallabies...
there is always hope, i dream of pocock short runs off the ruck, of Quade Cooper sidesteps, of Will Genia ball returns... we will see :)

some funny pics to come out of the world cup so far...

the barbs are flying thick and fast between the aussies and the kiwis.... it is best to not get stuck in the middle of this crossfire..
i will post more on that later.

cheers

Australia plays New Zealand on Sunday in both Rugby League and Rugby Union and let me tell ya here in oz everyone is crazy with black and yellow flags + people writing signs in their front lawns.... etc etc .... RUGBY FEVER....
i have been caught up in the swing of things and i wrote an ill-fated attempt at a funny article about Australia's first european discoverer .... i had to edit it cause it wasnt to my satisfaction and it ended up as a short facebook message ... :)
did you know he tried to name the australian continent as ..... wait for it ..... NEW ZEALAND !!!! ???
one thing is for sure.... there can only be one victor come sunday.... (well since it is technically 2 games, there can be two, but that just sounds lame :) )
i would normally say ... let the best team win..... but bugger it, i want australia to win.... AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE !!!!!!!!!

Tommy i think Wales could beat France .... it will be a close game . I think France has better backline and Wales forwards are impressive.... it will come down to who can execute their gameplan...

the ref gave a red card to one of the welshmen ... and france won by 1 point... 9-8
i was cheering for the welsh the whole game.... pity.

Australia plays New Zealand today.... i cannot wait .... its gonna be a few hours of rugby (league+ union) , a few drops of XXXX beer, plus telling kiwi jokes ROFL

Aye i tipped France but was shoutin for Wales and they only have themselves to blame for not winning the game.....3 missed penalty kicks? The ref was quite right in the red card sending off...dangerous play.So its time i was in bed for the big one Aus v NZ............. in the mornin. Sorry Danny NZ TO TAKE IT?

I still remember how NZ lost in 95 to south africa .... I still hope for a miracle but I have witnessed a few miracles...commonsense says the all blacks will walk all over us ... I am not common and I keep hoping Quade Cooper and Will Genia do me proud.

One thing is for sure whoever wins this game will kill France in the final. Oz will win easily the rugby league match ... It's possibly one of the last for Darren Lockyer :)

Streaks on the bed maybe .....................but Wallys didnt streak much over the game line versus the Blacks.NZ just wrote em off really ,crushed em big time...........now i suppose Nz are hot favors for the Final.........but i have a sneaking suspicion that France wont roll over,i think its a hard one to call considering France havent played a fantastic Test yet in this Series................i might say 50/50 ,can France run the ball?............dont put the shed on it!!.

the all blacks were vastly superior but the ref was one-eyed to say the least....

AB's are hot favourites and although France has eliminated them 3 times in the past.... since they are at home i think they will win easily
