1. 11-15 23-18 2. 12-16 18x11 3. 8x15 24-20 4. 16-19 22-18 5. 15x22 25x18 6. 4-8 27-23 7.
8-12 23x16 8. 12x19 18-15 9. 9-14 32-27 10. 7-11 15x8 11. 3x12 20-16 12. 2-7 29-25 13.
10-15 27-23 14. 6-10 31-27 15. 5-9 25-22 16. 1-5 21-17 17. 14x21 23-18 18. 7-11 16x7 19.
19-23 18x11 20. 23x32 7-2 21. 9-14 2-6 22. 14-18 6x15 23. 18x25 28-24 WW

This play knocks out the entire 16-19 defense and improves Ryan's MEC . The only hope for the entire 16-19 defense lies with

1. 11-15 23-18 2. 12-16 18x11 3. 8x15 24-20 4. 16-19 22-18 5. 15x22 25x18 6. 4-8 27-23 7.
8-12 23x16 8. 12x19 18-15 9. 7-11 15x8 10. 3x12 32-27 A.

A. Ryan gave 29-25 four stars for the win here but it only draws as his analysis was faulty here also. 32-27 may win on this line.

My whole point is posting this is.... The most respected PP has to be gone over and one can not just aimlessly memorize supposed draw lines of pp.
I have played this defense many times and maybe even once or twice in important play (tournies).

Is this all previously known? Can someone save the defense for poor Mr. Ryan?

Thanks,
Wayne

this is always very right, Wayne.

But did you take a look at "Big League Checkers" by Willie Ryan on page189 ff.?

It contains the analysis given above, and Ryan remarks that 4.16-19 is a loss.
However, your idea given in the 2nd line below is not mentioned there, but further checks if that was already published may show it to be old wine.

Thanks Ingo,

I was unaware of the Big Leauge play and corrections. Found the losses in a friendly mail game recently. I am pretty sure 32-27 will beat the early 7-11 trade but the whole line is really junk i suppose, lol, and after a lot of years I never really knew it :)
