On June 30th, 1979 "Checker Book World" opened its doors--with a book listing that contained over 1000 books (even Payne's). Its wares were advertised in the Checker Players Delight magazine. And during its existence 100's of books found a home within our checker community. Tom Wiswell (its mentor) and Clayton Beebe found themselves in competition for book sales from what Tom called--"a checker book dealer deluxe". (Cont.)
