"His Heart Melted Away When He First Met Her". So he gave her a lovely ring along with three of his most precious checker books as an engagement gift--(with those thrown in she could not help but say yes). Checker history is filled with many wonderful and interesting stories such as this one if you care to seek them out. "Checker Trivia question of the Day". What three checker books did he give to persuade her to say yes? (Cont.)
