This set of checkers comes in a beautiful dovetailed wooden box with a sliding lid. The checkers are red and black bakelite with celluloid inerts in the middle of each checker showing the flags of four countries. "Checker Triuvia question of the Day". The flags represented what four countries in which war? (Cont.)

"Victory Checkers"

Postby Palomino on Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:43 pm

I'm going to do some guessing here, my first thought was World War 11 but then I got to thinking "a wooden dovetailed box would be older than that" so I'm going to say the "Victory Checkers" were made to commemorate the end of the First World War. As for the four national flags I'm going to take what I think is the easy answer of this four part question and say one flag is for the USA. Now if I'm correct so far with my answers we need the names of three more countries.

Regards, "Pal" Bucker

Some people think of checkers as being a game of war. With that said one had better know who your friends are. (Cont.)
