Page Template

Postby Jason Solan on Thu Sep 24, 2009 9:32 pm

I feel like the whole site needs a facelift of sorts. There is a lot of pages that aren't accessible from the main menu's. Plus the code behind the headers can really be cleaned up quite a bit.

I started cleaning up the code and making more use of div's and CSS instead of relying on tables.
This page definately doesn't work in Internet Explorer 6 yet and probably some other browsers. I've only tested it in Opera 10 and Firefox 3.5.
But since it isn't even close to being finished yet I wasn't too concerned.
Trying to follow through on my open policy I'm posting this page here, but be warned that the link menu may or may not work for you.

Definitely needs a face life. I mean what kind of site uses Times New Roman these days. The page doesn't quite frame correctly with IE 8 either. Personally I'd like to see the color scheme change. If memory serves me correctly, this site has looked the same since I believe Clint made it?

I've made a few minor changes to the template. Hopefully the links will now at least expand when you mouse over them.
I've been working on an updated store that I hope to put in play next week. Most of the changes are on the server side because it's been a nightmare to handle some of the things that have been coming up recently in the old system. While I'm changing it, I'm planning on converting it to this style, so please give me some feedback if things are not working correctly for you.

Looks good, Jason. One request: would it be possible to create a static tournament announcement page (i.e. without the fancy menus) for viewing on mobile devices? Whenever I pull up an ACF page on my phone I have to wade through fifteen screens of menus before I get to the actual content.

Also, you may want to upload an index.html page for the root playground directory, as right now it just lists the contents.

Yes.
Does the page not function correctly?
Or you just don't like the way it looks?

I guess it's kind of minty....

What about using the colors from the "stars" set on CheckerBoard? The files are called dark.bmp and light.bmp.
