Any of them + Rich and Jim can be a winner. It will be very interesting and close fight in case of Ron absence. Many things depend on Richard Hallett health conditions. Jack Francis has unique chance, once in life time, to make a double by winning Barbados National and USA National !

Good luck to everyone.

24 players in GAYP National - extremely low number but not a record yet :D DEO would be very upset if he learns this.

Congratulations to Alex Holmes who won both games in 1st round and is the only leader with 4 points. He plays with Lubabalo Kondlo in 2nd round.

Congrats to my son on his excellent performance against a top master player. Alex (Holmes) is in first place again! Great job son! You are playing better than I can play and are now on top of the world. Keep up the great job and enjoy the game! You are the pride and joy of the ACF, and me too!

Fact #1. In 2001 ACF GAYP National in Las Vegas we had more than 100 players.

Fact #2. In 2005 ACF GAYP National in Dublin we had $5,000 from organizers and about the same amount from ACF + Oldbury fund and fees.

Fact #3. ACF GAYP National always had 3 Divisions until 2013.

Fact #4. In 1970's - 1980's ACF had around 1,500 active members, today - approximately 250.

Fact #5. In 1999 my first prize in GAYP National (Niagara Falls) Master Division was 1,500. In 2011 Ron King got 1st price - $750. How big will be 1st price in Master Division this year ?

If they could list now what the prizes will be for each position that would be great. It would also be great if Hallet beat Francis and if Alex at least drew Lubabolo.

While I can not claim to be Alex Holmes mentor-after memorizing all 7 volumes of Basic Checkers I donated my set to Alex since I had no further use for them and it looks like he did study them-I'm done memorizing Kears and hope to be done with Masterplay soon- be happy to pass them down to anyone who needs them. You might be thinking of a different question Moiseyev. Or you just might be posting something totally unrelated to my question? Either way I was asking about Mark and Alex.

Yes, my last post was related to topic itself (tournament progress), not specifically your question. However I join with you regarding question about Mark vs Alex H. 1st game in Rd.3
