I enjoyed playing in the 2013 NC State checker tournament. Tim Laverty did an excellent job as scorekeeper and JR Smith and who ever helped him did a very fine job of organizing and coordinating this fine event. The prize money was excellent and with my 6th place finish I earned $95. Tim paid me $80 when I left and I told him that if I earned more I wanted the excess donated to the NC Checker Association. I believe we totaled 15 very polite and competative players and I personally want to give a big thankyou to the Mr. Webster who I had scheduled for the last round for offering me 2 draw games so I could leave early. I felt that a very noble gesture on his part. When we get ND checkers up and running you all invited to any ND tournament scheduled in the future!
