A fine field for 2012 Texas Open. Ed King is very strong and Eric Strange is an excellent player as are several others. Good luck to all.

Any final results on this? Did Ed hold onto his lead?

Congratulations to Ed King !

Looks like he dominated and proved who is King in Texas!

Sorry I couldn't make it this year as the one week shift created a conflict of schedule for me. I understand it will go back next year to the 2nd weekend of June and I should be able to attend.

Congrats to all who played

The points indicated in JR's post are the correct final results as I understand them.

Ed King played like BEAST in this tournament! I was extremely impressed and surprised by his level of play compared to his game play at kurnik.

I played him in the second round and on our first game, it was an absolutely amazing game that he won. I looked it up later, and it turned out to be one of those moves that would seem to be really insignificant that would have drawn it for me. Once I get back to Colorado I will post the pdn up to the point where it was lost for me. Our second game of round 2, I was trying to avoid a draw and pretty much gave it away. I got repaired with him in round 7 and we drawed both sides on a
10-15 21-17 11-16 opening. Ed was the only player to take a game from me, and he took 2!

Some very good games played by everyone, and I think I may try and frequent the D8 tournament. Everyone was very nice and I appreciate the welcoming I got.

There was talk of even holding blitz tournament on Thursday night before the main tournament next year.
