I am OK if my opponent use numbered board outside of my observation, 10-15 feets away - so I can't see him/her and this F(ine) board.

Are you saying, that if your opponent chooses to use a numbered board, that you are offering to make all of your moves sitting or standing 10 to 15 feet away from the table where your opponent's board is placed?

About 30%-50% of my errors in recording are coming from my previous experience on 10x10 board.

Here is a list of my most common mistakes:

1) Confusing 4 (64 board) and 5 (100 board)- right top corner of two boards
2) Confusing 5 (64 board) and 6 (100 board) - left top corner
3) Confusing 8 (64 board) and 10 (100 board).
4) Conusing 12 (64 board) and 15 (100 board)
5) Confusing 9 (64 board) and 11 (100 board)

The most funny thing is - I am confusing often in opposite way, when I submit my 10x10 problems solutions to judgement committes.

One time in Composition Problems World Championship I wrote mistakenly 5 instead 6. And there were few other occasions in low calibre events.

- Another common type of my errors - missisng a move completely, especially when jumps or multi-jumps happened.

- I also sometimes (rarely) confusing with red-white size and using for instance 11 instead 22 etc.

All these kind of errors generate in total about 90%-95% of all my recording mistakes, and numbered board may help very little only with last one.

Dennis, sometimes my opponents choose to use numbered board and this never been a problem. All we need - be respectful and tolerant. I always inform my opponent that it is uncomfortable for me and propose to play 1 game on his board and second game on my board. So far nobody declined this kind of offer

I had an awful time at the Nationals in Las Vegas trying to come up with the moves that were actually made in the game. Once again, thanks to all that make the games possible.

I can vouch for this.

I had the pleasure of rooming with Mac Banks in three of the ACF National Tournaments held in Las Vegas.

In the last of these tournaments I attended, I personally witnessed Mac Banks hard at work, transcribing and recording the moves of the match games, even into the late evening hours.

Instead of going out to indulge in the Las Vegas night life, he selflessly donated his generous time to this very important task.

I went out to enjoy the night life, instead.

Mac's hard work was surely a higher calling.

I want to thank Mac for his hard work, and I also want to thank all of the others who have worked so hard as well, to record and preserve all other past match and tournament games for players to study and enjoy.

I can always be counted on to make errors when I record. That is true if I use a numbered board or an unnumbered board. In fact, I am probably the worlds champion at making recording errors, but I still try to record all my tournament games at any tournament I might attend. PA will require recording of games if you with to take part in getting money from the prize fund. This is an excellent idea which should be adopted by all sanctioned checker tournaments.
