Jay, what a great tribute to Mr. Earl Hangen! This shows how one individual can make a difference! Mr. Earl Hangen kept the Grand Old Game alive around the world with his incredible dedication and hard work as mail play director. This is history as biography! Thank you for this tribute, Jay!

Jay, very well done tribute about Mr H , written by another Mr H.... (the first congratulations were done by a third Mr H)
2 questions ...

are you going to show it to Mr Hangen?
and what is to stop us to start a ladder and instead of using traditional mail , use emails???

Something similar is already being done on ItsYourTurn.com for 10x10 checkers, and possibly for other variants-- Roger Blaine runs the group. I think most recent "mailplay" has in fact been by email as well, though IYT or GoldToken would be more convenient in terms of storing moves and positions.
